Personal Injury Case Manager

Location: La Jolla (UTC), CA | Hybrid Flexibility Available
Practice Area: Plaintiff Personal Injury

A growing and highly respected plaintiff-side personal injury law firm in the La Jolla/UTC area is seeking a Personal Injury Case Manager to join its expanding team. This position will support two attorneys and manage a caseload of approximately 30 files, playing a critical role in helping cases progress from intake through settlement. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting both pre-litigation and litigation personal injury matters and thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining consistent communication throughout the life of the case
  • Conduct regular check-ins regarding treatment, recovery, and case progress
  • Monitor medical treatment, identify gaps in care, and track progress toward maximum medical improvement
  • Draft and assist with personal injury demand packages
  • Negotiate medical liens and work with providers to maximize client recovery
  • Track and manage medical, health insurance, Medicare, and Medi-Cal liens
  • Identify and monitor all available insurance coverage, including liability, UM/UIM, MedPay, and health insurance
  • Coordinate vehicle repairs and property damage claims
  • Maintain accurate case management records and update case status trackers
  • Monitor critical deadlines, including statutes of limitation, demand deadlines, settlement deadlines, and litigation-related court deadlines
  • Schedule and coordinate depositions, IMEs/DMEs, mediations, hearings, and other case-related events
  • Prepare settlement statements outlining costs, expenses, liens, and net recovery to clients
  • Provide case updates during team meetings and ensure files continue moving efficiently toward resolution

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of personal injury case management experience on the plaintiff side preferred
  • Experience supporting both pre-litigation and litigation personal injury matters
  • Strong experience drafting demand packages
  • Experience negotiating medical liens and resolving lien-related issues
  • Exceptional organizational and case management skills
  • Professional communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Spanish bilingual skills are preferred but not required
